Overview

GlowCursor is a Chrome extension that enhances your browsing experience with beautiful animated cursor trails. We believe that privacy is a fundamental right, and we have built GlowCursor with that principle at its core.

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All settings and preferences are stored locally in your browser.

Data Collection

GlowCursor collects absolutely zero data. We do not:

• Collect your browsing history
• Track your mouse movements or clicks
• Store any personal information
• Use analytics or telemetry
• Make any external network requests
• Use cookies or similar tracking technologies

The extension runs entirely locally on your device. No data ever leaves your browser.

Data Storage

GlowCursor uses Chrome's built-in storage API to save your preferences locally. This includes:

• Your selected effect (Rainbow, Fire, Neon, etc.)
• Particle size, trail length, and speed settings
• Glow intensity and opacity preferences
• Whether the extension is enabled or disabled

All data is stored locally on your device. It is never synced to the cloud, sent to any server, or accessed by anyone else.

Permissions

GlowCursor requests only the minimal permissions needed to function:

• storage — Used exclusively to save your preferences locally.
• host_permissions (<all_urls>) — Required to inject the cursor trail effect on all web pages you visit. This permission is used only to display the visual effects and does not collect any data.

We do not request any unnecessary permissions like tabs, webRequest, or cookies.

Third-Party Services

GlowCursor does not use any third-party services, libraries, or APIs that could collect your data. The extension is completely self-contained and makes no external requests.

No third-party dependencies

User Control & Transparency

You have full control over GlowCursor and your data:

• Enable/Disable — You can toggle the extension on or off at any time.
• Delete Data — All settings are stored locally. You can clear them by uninstalling the extension or resetting settings from the popup.
• Open Source — GlowCursor is open source, and the code is available for review.

Children's Privacy

GlowCursor does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The extension does not collect any data at all, regardless of the user's age.

Changes to This Policy

If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Any changes will be reflected in future updates of the extension.
